Test passed!

Dreamy is Husky fit:-)
Tascha was with us to see how Dreamcatcher reacts to dogs, since we have quite a number of theme at home, we thougt it would be good to check this out.

Dreamy is trying to sneak up on Tascha, he wants to know what all the fuss is about :)

  • Our visit on 22.07.2007

Buster loves playing with horses as he
always did with Amber.
Dreamy was in to the game in no
time, we had to put Buster back on the
leash because they just didn't want to
stop running after each other.

  • Our visit on 02.09.2007

Finnaly we found the time to visit our little guy. He was totally trusting and came galloping as soon as he saw us :o)

Jasmin joined me on the long trip down. And it seems as tough they both connected right away.

And here a pic from the side:

His structures look more harmonic than a month ago, and his mane is starting to get nice and thick. It falling to both sides of his neck, cant wait for it to grow more.

  • My pre-birthday-visit on 25.10.2007

How time flys: Dreamys first birthday!
                1 Year of age!

And we are so proud to have him!

Dreamcatcher was born on a special day, it's the anniversary of
Amber Knights death.

This only occurred to us on the day it self. I really miss Amber with all my heart, and I think of ever so much. I like to belive that she stil lives in Dreamcatcher and it was her way of coming back after I had to sell her a few years ago...

Our "babe" is enjoying the new company, and all tough the others are all very excited, nothing can make him nervous.

Dreamy is growing hear, on his upper lipp.. (Thank god it vanished again...)

Not only Dreamy was looking for our attention, this cute fillie coudn't get enough either...

Dani was busy keeping all the foals happy, feeding theme apples an carrots, but not only that, he toke 97 pics while we were there...

And bevor we leave a litlte kiss fo me :-).
Can't wait to bring him home.

  • Christmas visit on 29.12.2007

Everything is still the same, our little stallion seems very happy in the middle of "his" herde. He is totally calm nothing can make him jumpy, no matter how "wild" all the others are behaving he just stays real cool and of course we always stuff him with loads of carrots and apples.
This time I could even pet his neck, he didn't like that up to now, and he also listens to his name
:-).

        Soon our
     "Mc Dreamy" is coming
    home! Juhuuu!!

But bevor that the poor
thing is getting gelded.. :o(

===================================================================

We are thrilled to have found this beautifull foal-range it's only 30 Minutes from our home, meaning that we can visit Dreamcatcher more often and train him a bit so he dosent forget what he learned at home. First he will be put in a small group of foals to get used to the new situation, the head of this group is an old frisian-gelding, he keeps all the young ones sorted :-). Starting 2009 the group will be integrated in the big herde with horses of all age groups (about 50 all thogether). So I hope this will be good for his social behavior..

  • The foal-roundup end of october 2008

On the 27.10.2008 it was set, and a new stage in Dreamy life started. We had to be there at 2 p.m. So Dreamy wouln't have to travel alone we took Elvie with us in the horsebox, as usual they both behaved like pros. Finally there Dreamy needed to be checked by the vet, he also needed to trott and he had to go on the scales, his weight: 380kg. And to finish it of our picture was taken...

This procedure was followed by the bringing all the foals together, some foals were already in the big padock when we brought Dreamy in. He got all excited and was presenting himself from his nicest side trotting and showing off... After only a few minutes it was clear that he had one of the higer positions in the herd. There were 2 Foals about Dreamys age, the old Frisianhorse (the chief) and the rest of theme were all about 6-8 months old.
After an other 10 minutes or so Dreamy already made friends with one of the brown Swissfoals, I guess it reminded him of the ones on the last foal-range. Dreamys new friend didn't leave his side for a minute, he kind of adopted Dreamy to be his replacement-mommy :-)
The other jungsters were still running around and had truble with calming down. Dreamy was just watching, now and then he would go sniff a new foal that just has been let in to the padock, but he stayed quite relaxed.
He checked out the old Frisian (Sultan) and he accepted him as chief with out protest.

"Uuuiiiii"

"Your just going to leave me here?"

Well I guess for me leaving him there was worse than for him :).

  • Dreamy survived november (and me to)  :o)

Our little cutie has excperiended quite a lot during his short stay. His best friend is now a Painthorse the same age as he. They play all day and make all the other horses mad as well as the staff, thas why at night time the get there own stable where they can fool around and don't disturbe the others while sleeping. On the open field the terror squad ist easier to handel for the other foals, because there they have enough space to take a flight, when they come running...

At the moment we visit Dreamy almost every week and go walking with him, and hes behaving well. We dont notice any negative behaviour up to now, except that he seems to search for the bigest dirtholes to role in... it always takes us ages to clean him, he must do it on purpose.

No wunder his getting so heavy, they can eat all day, and of course he makes sure to always get the best hay...

====================================================================

  • December 2008

Due to the bad weather we could not go walking a lot, the ground was just to icy. So for a change we visited during the day when they were all out in the field. Soon Dreamy and the others will be in the big herd of 50 horses but he has to wait an other month or so.

Beside Sultan Dreamy looks so small :(

little Kiss fo me :)

  • January 2009 - May 2009

We visit Dreamy on the foal range as often as possible, regrettably we've gotten a bit lazy with taken pic...eather that or he was just so filthy that taken pics would just not have made sense. Dreamy loves when we clean him, he always starts playing with his upperlipp when his really enjoying it :o) or he trys to scratch us in return...
Because Dreamy was eating to much and wouldn't let the younger foals eat he was put away in a single stable just for the night, where he just got his portion. After he lost enough weight, he was put in to a group of jungsters about a year olther than him, so he had to behave there and couln't just reserve the hay for him self...
The range is beeing remodelt, and new stables and feeding stands are beeing bild. This way there wont be any single groups any more, all horses will be togheter the whole day, it will be great.

And we also got the dates set for when dreamy is going in training to:  Elisabeth Kull.

May 2009

  • Middle of May 2009

Since 2 weeks Dreamcatcher is living in an absolut "dream-stable", it's just simply fantastic! Thogether with 46 other horses from 6 months up to 30 years of age he moved in to the new open stable. Each horse has his own feed-stand, there is fresh water cubes shared all over the paddock. The stable and rest-area has a nice thick straw beeding and the way it is built every horse can find a place to lie without beeing disturbed by an other one. All the horses just really look happy. Oh I would just love to have a stable like this at home!

  • 31. May 2009

Just can't get enough of our cute pony at the moment, so we went for an extra visite and brought loads of carrots :), we tought Dreamy would be out in the field, but because they have to watch out for the weight of some horses, they were already back in the big paddock and so we could take Dreamy out :-). He was so good, even though we didnt even have a halter for him.

He's my biggest treasure!
